Is SARA an anchor?
No. SARA is an attachment that works with the anchor you already have. It currently works with plow and claw anchors.
When does SARA launch?
We don't have a launch date to share yet. It's coming as soon as we're ready, and the best way to find out first is to sign up on the homepage.
What will SARA cost?
Pricing hasn't been finalized. We'll share it as soon as it's set, sign up to be the first to know.
Will SARA fit my boat?
SARA currently works with plow and claw anchors. We'll share more compatibility details closer to launch.
Can I use SARA for overnight anchoring?
SARA is designed primarily for fishing and temporary anchoring, where wind and current can change the boat's direction. We're currently testing SARA under those conditions, including 180° changes in direction. SARA is not intended for overnight or unattended anchoring.
Do I need to lean over the boat to use it?
No. SARA is built for one-person operation, so you're not leaning over the side to free a stuck anchor.
Can I use SARA on more than one boat?
Yes. SARA is transferable, so it moves with you between boats you own.
How is SARA different from other anchor retrieval products?
Most systems that dislodge a stuck anchor still leave you to go forward and manually reset your lines before you can use the windlass again. SARA resets itself automatically and lets you redeploy right through the windlass, no extra steps.
Why not just use a zip tie?
Plenty of boaters use the zip tie method, and Noel did for years. But once the zip tie breaks, your anchor comes up backwards. It won't sit in your roller or anchor well, and someone has to lean over the bow and re-tie it before you can anchor again. SARA was built so you don't have to.
